As one of the oldest towns of Ontario, L’Orignal has a few gems to offer like, for example, the L’Orignal Old Jail. Functional from 1825 to 1998, it is the oldest jail in Ontario and the second oldest jail in Canada. Today, it serves as a museum and hosts a scary Halloween event each year.

Why not visit Vankleek Hill, the Gingerbread Capital of Ontario? Barely 15 minutes away, you can admire the woodwork of about 250 homes displaying Victorian era decorative gingerbread elements and historical murals. Year-round, Vankleek Hill offers several events like Beau’s Oktoberfest, the Festival of Flavours, the Vankleek Hill Fair and many more. The village is filled with small museums, a tea house, cute cafés and restaurants.
